God Is In Charge

I want to give glory to God for He cares for me and those whom He loves.

On 25th November 2011, I and a few friends are going for a picnic at the Garden. But it was raining cats and dogs the day before. 3 friends had called me and asked what are my alternative plans if it should continue to rain the next day. I told them that we will go by faith, as we have always done in the past, and God will decide as He is our Sovereign God.

While I was lying on the bed, I kept releasing this matter to God, even though I could still hear the pittter and patter of the rain against my window panes. God gave me peace and in no time I was sound alseep.

I woke up early in the morning to a bright and sunny day! Praise God! How could it be, except that the God of the universe has stopped the rain! And not only that, this outing recorded the highest number of 'Connecties' - 12! Wow, thank You Heavenly Papa for delighting us always with Your goodness and generousity. God loves His little children, for I am one of them!

God Takes Care of my all

God is good to me and I would like to record this so that I can call to mind the great deeds He has done for me. (Psalm 105:4-5)

I was woken up last night by a loud thud! I jumped out of bed and switched on the light to check it out. I found my picture frame has fallen from the wall. But what is so amazing is it did not hit the porcelain 'egg' placed directly underneath it. I found the picture frame on the floor next to the fragile 'egg'. I inspected both the picture and the egg carefully, and both are in good condition! Everything is perfectly OK.
As I thanked God and reflected on this, I know God is speaking to me. Before I went to bed, I prayed to God and release my elder son to Him. My elder son is anxious about his new posting in the army and came to me that night just before he left for the camp. I know God is saying to me that He will take care of everything that is precious to me and to Him. He took care of that 'egg' for me even though I cared not for it, so how much more will He care for my son(s)!

Thank you Heavenly Father for Thy loving care and protection. I will learn to lean and depend on You even more from now on... In Jesus name. Amen

WHAT TICKS GOD OFF

I am reading this book entitled "What Ticks GOD Off" by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz.
It is a very refreshing book written in a very light and easy to read style. But its message is solemn. There are so many ways that we irritate God. Just to name a few examples from the book - failing to acknowledge that God was the source of our prosperity and wealth, ignoring or forgetting God, abandoning God's laws and any connection between Him and the routine of real life, arrogance toward God and rebellion against His precepts, spiritual hypocrisy, running to the wrong direction like Jonah, oppress or neglect the poor, stand aloof and refusing to help those in need, gloat over those in trouble, rejoice when others suffer like Edom etc etc.

But there is good news. The lives of the minor prophets highlight God's grace and forgiveness. Let Bruce and Stan help us to get back on track and find our way back to the heart of God

James 2:14-16

FAITH WITHOUT WORK IS DEAD

What are some ways that we as believers can put actions behind our words?

Here are some answers I got as I ponder over this question:
1) Do not gamble so as to 'earn more money' for I believe that God will provide. Also God will honour me when I work hard for we must not be lazy or be gluttons. What God has given me through work, may I use this to bless others.

2) Do not sigh or complain as I confess that God is good. So no matter under what situations, let me rejoice for He is good all the time.

3) Do works of charity even as I tell others or believe that God is love. For by spreading cheer or by doing good deeds, i am showing God's love to others.

4) As I believe that God is all powerful and God is my Healer and Master, than I must not worry or be filled with anxiety and fear. What I can do is to tell God what's the trouble, turn to His Word for wisdom and comfort and then seek help from church elders.

5) As I believe in heaven and eternal life with Christ, then I must tell others about it. I can't keep it to myself. Start praying, start fasting, start sharing, start telling. Ask God for His divine intervention to lead me to a person He wants me to reach out to.

Father Answers Prayers

A good friend wanted to bring her parents to my place for the TGIF Matthew party. She is very concerned about their salvation as they are quite old. When she brought up the matter to them, the father was willing but her mother refused. When she told me the news, we were both very disappointed. So I suggest we leave it to God but we pray hard. That was last week.
Today my friend called me and told me she brought up this matter again to her parents. Her brother was also together with them. This brother not only encouraged the parents to come to my place, but also inquired whether his wife can come too! My friend could not believe her ears! Both the brother and sister-in-law are unbelievers and have also scolded my friend for sharing the gospel.
I do not know what has happened, but I am very convinced that our Papa God hears our prayers and He answers all our prayers. All the glory to Him. Praise the Lord!

FATHER KNOWS BEST

I am not a person who is good with gadgets. I remember I needed my son to help out with the DVD player two years ago when friends came to my place to watch Kelvin's testimony. So I put in some determination to know at least how to get the machine works - with the help of my husband. Finally I manged to play some CDs and even get to watch some movies.
This year our church is celebrating Good Friday by sharing the gospel at home. We name it TGIF. And we will play the CD on Kelvin's wife this time round. So I open my home for the Matthew party again and I was very sure I know how to handle the gadget. We played the CD in church during last week cell meeting. Nothing came on the screen, we tried to push many buttons but no sound came out, but at least the picture came on. So we had to call in the experts and eventually managed to watch the whole thing. So my cell leader reminded me to try it at home. I was kept busy and forgot about it. I received the leader's sms reminder on Monday and I said I would try it on the next day.
In the afternoon I put the CD into the player. I saw the player displayed lights and the CD was moving but no picture nor sound came on. Then I remember the flash flood I 'enjoyed' in February. The telcos' workers came to change the boxes for me as they were all not working due to the water that came in through the window nearby. The repairman told me he had to removed the DVD wire as there just too many wires for him to handle! I completely forgot about the whole matter. Fortunately my husband was in Singapore. For the past years, he came back to Singapore in March for my birthday. Because I was not in Singapore this March, my husband postponed his trip to early April. Praise God for that because my husband finally manged to get the wires fixed (my son does not know how to do it, in fact the last time he messed up all the wires). Thank God that I still remember how to get this DVD player working and am now looking forward to watching this testimony with all friends who will come on TGIF . Hallelujah!

We are wonderfully made by GOD

As I consider all these wonderful things God made, I am awestruck. All Glory to His Name!
1) The numbers of chromosomes and cells, DNA etc
2) Types of blood, red and white, positive and negative, A B O AB etc
3) Hairs on our body. When the hairs on our heads turn white, so do our eyebrows, side burns and goatees.
4) Types of teeth for various functions etc. Even our wisdom teeth.
5) The extras in our bodies - like the appendix and extra fingers or toes.
6) Bones in our body - even the ear-bone and skull.
7) How our bodies take in/absorb and then later discharge/give out like water, food, air. At times, even feelings like love and wisdom of words.
8) Amazing body parts like nails, ear-lobes with no blood vessels (so that you can wear ear-rings) and also our skin.
9) Colours of our skin, hair, eyes. We also have spots, dimples and birth-marks.
The list is not exhausting.

God Is So Good

This morning I witnessed a scene which really makes me so in awe of GOD's goodness, kindness, love and patience He has with this children, especially the Hebrews in the desert.
I was at the coffee-shop with my son having breakfast. A man was complaining and grumbling to his friend about how a local telco firm has overcharged him for something he did not use. Worse, he was using all the foul and 4-letters words that hurt my ears. A woman who was trying to help advised him to go direct to the company and asked for proof of his usuage of this service. Again he poured out all sorts of words not meant for the ears. Worst, he even scolded the father and his son (MM AND 2nd SON) for being greedy for even such a small sum of his money. At this point I was very angry. Such rudeness, ungratefulness and disrespect to our MM Lee!
As I went for my morning walk at the nearby park later, I quiet down. God shows me just how He felt towards the grumblings and complaints of the Hebrews in the desert. God has done so much for them out of His great love but yet what He got in return was ungratefulness and complaints. But God forgives them each time they repented and called to Him in their distress. He completely forgets and forgives them of all their sins. How great Thou art! All glory to HIM

DO NOT FRET! JUST PRAY!

Now that there are more ladies in the BSF, it would be really amazing if we can be dismissed on time. Yesterday's lecture was very inspiring and long. The lecturer apologised that she would have to take up some of our time. True enough, when I reached the bus-stop, it was eleven minutes after 11am. I need to rush to work and reach office by 12:00pm (lunch time for my colleague) and he has to eat on time as he is suffering from gastric problems. So I prayed to the Lord and said I wished to reach office before 12:00pm today. After a few minutes, bus 157 came. I would have preferred the other buses as they do not ply the housing estate. But since I have prayed and the bus 157 came, I just boarded it. The journey will take a while, so I took out a book and started reading. Just as I thought, the bus stopped at almost all the stops. I concentrated on reading instead of fretting. Just as I reached the depot (at the junction) I saw bus 79 at the traffic lights - which meant I have just missed the bus that take me to the office! But I trusted the Lord, and true enough a few minutes another bus 79 came along and I reached the office ten minutes before 12pm
How could this be? I don't know but I know God is good. Praise the Lord, all glory goes to HIM.

Coincidence Or God' Divine Intervention

I was trading on ebay for quite a while but after several months of 'dryness', I stopped. Just a few days ago, a friend called me asking me some questions relating to ebay and inquired whether I am still trading. Since I stopped only for a while but still with the interest, I said yes. Thus I went into my account to just check it out. Guess what? An interested buyer wanted to buy a few books from me and he sent me the message on 31/12/2010. If I had not gone into the account, I would not be able to retrieve the message after 90 days! What is amazing is he is a very sincere buyer and really wants to know more about the LORD. He is very interested in more books which I am able to recommend him - to meet his needs and requirements at this point in his walk with Christ!
I am convinced both my friend and I were God's instruments to help this brother in Christ. All glory to God. His ways are definitely much higher!

GIVE GOD ALL YOUR CONCERNS

Recently a friend called me and said that she will sent her dog for a surgery. Her daughter loves this old dog very much but it had failed all the preliminary tests for an operation the previous year. She wondered whether we can pray for our pets, so I told her that we can just go to Papa God with all our concerns.
A week later, she shared that this dog managed to pass all the tests (marginally) before it's allowed for surgery. All the family members and the vet. were amazed. The vet asked her what she had done for the dog. My friend is convinced that God answered her prayers. All glory to God!

Just yesterday I went to this health product shop to get some supplements etc. My friend asked me to get her a bottle of shampoo. I would love to give her the eco-friendly bag as she often helps me to meet the minimum point of 35. But in order to get this bag I need to get 37 points - but my list for that day is only 35 points. I actually contemplated to get 1 small item to make up to 37 points, but decided against it as these 2 points cost more than a bag. So I talked to God about my heart's desire. God is very good and gives me my desire! The lady in front of the Q was not able to give an account number of a member - she tried a few numbers but the computer threw out these numbers as ex-members. So she asked me whether she can use my number, and of course I agreed. Thus I was able to get more than 37 points and a bag for my friend! Praise the Lord, He is so good to those who trust and believe in Him. All glory to His Name!

GOD'S FAVOUR

Recently I won an i-pad at an annual dinner. It happened like this. When the first prize number was called, no one came forward to claim the i-pad. So the committee decided to call another number, and my number was called. Later there were people who felt that this prize should belong to the original 'winner', that though he/she was not around to claim it, it should belong the him/her.

A week later I was buying some products from a health-products company and was given 3 lucky draw tickets. The first prize was also an i-pad. The counter girl however stressed that I have to be at the store when the draw was taking place. If not, even if my number should win the first prize, it will be forfeited as I was not there to claim it.

This makes me think. As the original winner was at the dinner that night, why didn't he claim the i-pad. He must have either gone home or gone out for a while (to the toilet perhaps or make a phone call). To me, this is not a co-incident. I think God wants to surprise me with a present. Because He loves me. Amen

God is my helper

Recently I agreed to help a friend to install/fix a DVD player for her. This is not my first choice of helping her as I know next to nothing about these types of gadgets-let alone fixing one. But due to situations/circumstances that do not permit other help, I offered to try. So I asked my son to 'teach/show' me how to fix my DVD player into my TV. To him, it seems so easy.
After getting a new DVD player, we proceeded to her house. But I did confess to her that I might not be able to do it. So another friend said."Let's commit this to God" And we gathered together to pray and ask the Lord to be our helper.

I tried at first to fix it onto the TV in the hall. Nothing!!! So I brought it into the room and fix it onto that TV. Nothing!!! Lord, please help. So I brought the DVD player to fix in onto the TV in the hall once again. This time I pressed a bar and something happened. Viola! It worked. Praise the LORD. All glory to him. I am very happy to be able to help this friend who bought the DVD player for her aged father who is house-bound. God knows and meets each of our needs. Hallelujah!

ALWAYS GIVE THANKS

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.

It's easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

God Answers my questions!

2 days ago I was reading Revelation Chapter 7 and was very puzzled. I know of the 12 tribes during Moses' time, but do not understand why in Revelation, 2 tribes are missing - instead replaced by the tribes of Joseph and Levi.
So I asked God about this puzzle and wrote the question in my journal. Incredible. Today while doing a bible study on the internet, the speaker explains very clearly this question that I asked God 2 days ago. In fact, I could have got the answer the day before, but as the computer was not available to me, I could only access it today.
God is really so amazing. Praise the Lord. He is indeed to be worshipped.Hallelujah!

Thorn in the flesh

For 3 generations, the clock had stood in the same corner, faithfully ticking off the minutes and hours. Each day, the clock's owner grasped the chain and pulled up the heavy weight to keep the clock running.
Then a new owner appeared and concluded that the clock should not have to bear so heavy a load. Gently, he removed the weight and immediately the old clock stopped ticking.
"Why did you remove my weight?" the clock asked.
"I wanted to lighten your load," replied the man.
"That doesn't help," the clock responded. "Please put the weight back on the chain. That weight is what keeps me going."
The moral of this little fable is obvious. A life without burdens isn't necessarily a triumphant life. Often burdens "keep us going" and help us mature. That is cause for thanksgiving and hope.
