In this parable of The Prodigal Son, the elder brother is lost in the house. We can see the 5 characteristics of a person who is lost:-
1) Anger and resentment (verse 28)
2) Joyless fear-serve base on his compliance to rules (verse 29)
3) Strong sense of his own superiority (pride) (verse 30)
4) Unforgiving and judgmental spirit
5) Lack of assurance of his father's love (v29b)
So, the pastor lost some members in his church because they have the Elder brother syndrome.
Am I also like the elder child?
